Oxford Dictionary Adds CCS Terms

Friday, August 20, 2010

The definition of carbon capture and storage is added to the Oxford Dictionary now describing the meaning as the process of trapping and storing carbon dioxide produced by burning fossil fuels.
It is one of two terms related to climate change featured in the new edition of the Oxford Dictionary of English published Thursday, the Guardian reports. The other, geo-engineering, is better known as the manipulation of environmental processes to counteract the effects of global warming.
Time has listed the newest words that appear in the third edition of the single volume dictionary first published in 1998. (LinksChina)
